Blockbuster Inc. Appoints New Management Team in New Zealand

AUCKLAND, New Zealand, Dec. 10 /PRNewswire-AsiaNet/ --

Blockbuster Inc. announced today that it has appointed a new management
team in New Zealand that will directly support the 37 BLOCKBUSTER franchise
stores in the New Zealand market.

Rick Wight, former Blockbuster area SVP for Australia/Asia will manage and
oversee the operations of the BLOCKBUSTER New Zealand franchise business. The
Company believes the management change will better position the BLOCKBUSTER
business as the premier home rental entertainment business in New Zealand.

Under the new management team, Blockbuster franchise stores will continue
their normal business operations. Blockbuster has operated stores in the New
Zealand market for more than 12 years.
