MEDIA RELEASE
New hotel manager for New Zealand’s best hotel
(Auckland – 12 February 2008)
The Langham Auckland will have a new hotel manager at the helm from 21 February 2008.
Vincent Macquet will head the property, awarded New Zealand’s best visitor accommodation at the 2007 New Zealand Tourism Industry Association Awards.
Vincent joined The Langham Auckland in July 2007 as food and beverage manager. He has over a decade’s hotel experience working at numerous five-star properties in Australia, Mauritius, Rodriguez and Oman.
Vincent replaces current hotel manager Scott Thomson who has accepted the role of hotel manager at Langham Place Mongkok in Hong Kong. In another New Zealand success story Scott will be joining fellow New Zealander Jeffrey Van Vorsselen who is already the general manger of the Hong Kong property.
Scott has played a pivotal role with the introduction of The Langham brand into New Zealand. Joining the property in June 2005 Scott was responsible for much of the hotel’s NZ$14m refurbishment and has also seen the property awarded accolades such as the aforementioned best visitor accommodation along with Best New Zealand City Hotel (2007 HM Awards for Hotel and Accommodation Excellence).
