Organics Aotearoa
New Zealand (OANZ) and the Organic Products Exporters of New
Zealand Inc (OPENZ) will be promoting New Zealand’s
certified organic products at the All Things Organic trade
fair in Chicago, Illinois, from 27 to 29 April.
All Things Organic is North America’s only all-organic trade fair and conference, central to the purchasing decisions for organic retailers, distributors, wholesalers and the food service industry in the world’s second largest market for organic products.
New Zealand’s exports of certified organic products were valued at $120 million last year - an increase from $70 million in 2005 - with the domestic market valued at $210 million annually (1.1% of total food and beverage sales). Internationally, organics are the fastest growing segment of the food and beverage market, worth more than USD$40 billion annually.
Gavin Middleton, OANZ/OPENZ Executive Officer, will be attending the Chicago trade fair to showcase a range of New Zealand organic products, along with representatives from Fonterra and Zespri - two of New Zealand’s largest organic exporters. The New Zealand stand is number 3131.
Gavin will be available to speak with media during the trade fair and following his return to New Zealand on 12 May, with the Chief Executive Officer of Organics Aotearoa New Zealand and Chair of the Organic Products Exporters of New Zealand Inc also available for comment.
