Business NZ dissociates from statement by Climate Change Leadership Forum
Business NZ has dissociated itself from a
public statement made by the Climate Change Leadership
Forum.
The statement contained ‘10 key points’ supporting the government’s plans for an emissions trading scheme.
Forum member Phil O’Reilly says the statement was the result of a late paper to a meeting at which he and various other Forum members were not present.
He said neither he nor Business NZ agreed with many of the points, nor was he informed that a public statement was to be made on his behalf as a Forum member.
“It is regrettable that it is necessary to dissociate from the Forum’s statement made this week and we hope the work of the Forum will be able to continue in a positive spirit.”
