CentrePort Chairman Retires
CentrePort Chairman, Nigel Gould, has advised that he will be retiring at the end of June. This decision was foreshadowed to shareholders when he was reappointed to his current three year term and coincides with the completion of the company’s financial year.
Mr Gould has been Chairman of CentrePort since its establishment in 1988 and previously he was Chairman of the Wellington Harbour Board.
Mr Gould was first elected to the Wellington Harbour Board in 1980. Since this time, the harbour in general and Wellington’s waterfront in particular, have undergone significant change. This includes port reform and development, inner harbour revitalization, and considerably enhanced recreational facilities.
The CentrePort Board has elected Warren Larsen to succeed Mr Gould. Mr Larsen has been a Director of CentrePort since 2001. He was previously the Chief Executive of New Zealand Dairy Board. Currently he is also Deputy Chair of Landcorp and a Director of Air New Zealand.
