Yellow Pages Group embraces Digital Media
Yellow Pages Group has announced the creation of a new Digital Media business unit, to be headed by the company’s current Marketing Director, Blair Glubb.
Chief Executive Officer Dudley Enoka said Yellow Pages Group is committed to being a leader in digital media advertising solutions for businesses, including online and mobile platforms.
“We’re immensely proud of our heritage as a business based in print and we are still seeing excellent growth there. But at the same time we recognise future growth in our industry will mainly come from digital media as more and more people use internet and mobile technology.”
Mr Enoka said recent Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) data showed that the interactive (digital) advertising market had grown significantly in the last two years, and now accounted for around 6% of the overall advertising market.
“Online is a growing media and we are focused on being a major player in this space. Our customers know this and are increasingly looking to diversify their advertising to be represented across all our channels – print, online, voice and, shortly, mobile.”
The ASA data also revealed that the combined market share of all Yellow Pages Group products was greater than that of the entire radio advertising industry, Mr Enoka said.
The new team will bring together key people with digital media expertise from across Yellow Pages Group, and include product developers and a dedicated online sales team.
Mr Enoka said Yellow Pages Group was in negotiations with several other online players regarding partnerships, and he expects announcements will be made shortly.
Mr Glubb will continue to fill the Marketing Director role until a replacement can be found.
