Women*s Phone Book - 25,000 Businesses and growing

ONLY COMPREHENSIVE ONLINE WOMEN*S DIRECTORY IN NEW ZEALAND

THE WOMEN*S PHONE BOOK - 25,000 BUSINESSES NATIONWIDE AND GROWING

The only comprehensive New Zealand directory focusing on the needs of women, the Women*s Phone Book has been launched online and is a directory to 25,000 businesses nationwide - and growing.

The Women*s Phone Book is the brainchild of Auckland based Miriam Roberts and has been in development for the last 12 months. It can be found at www.womensphonebook.co.nz.

*I set out to provide a directory service for women that would provide a one stop shop when searching or purchasing something as ordinary as window cleaning or as personal as a gynaecologist*, said founder Miriam Roberts.

Some key categories include Women*s Support groups, Health & Beauty, Children & Education and Weddings.

*I wanted The Women*s Phone Book to reflect the many roles of women as I understand them - being a mum, a wife and a business woman myself, I wanted to create a service and network that will make life a bit simpler and provide an instant network. Nowadays women lack the support that they perhaps had in our parent*s generation, particularly when having children, starting a new job or returning to the workforce* she explained.

Options such as The Yellow Pages are all things to all people - the Women*s Phone Book is unique in that it is designed specifically for women right from the visual design of the site to the categories and services as well as the women specific information included in each listing such as *women only, child friendly and businesses with a specific women*s focus. The Women*s Phone Book is designed for women of all ages and circumstances.

Incorporated into the Women*s Phone Book is a unique rating and review section for better assessment of customer satisfaction and the sharing of information among women on their experiences as customers. It was important to Miriam that the review process was fair and so the structure prevents anyone from being tarnished permanently by a negative review. Positive reviews should help a businesses reputation to grow faster.

* Negative reviews need not tarnish a reputation forever, they will hopefully make use of this direct customer feedback and take steps to improve their business.*

There are very specific checks and balances in place to ensure that the reviewing process is carried out in a fair manner and all reviewers have to provide their details by registering to the Women*s Phone Book first.

All businesses are listed on the directory for free and businesses are welcome to upgrade their free listing for extra features such as displaying their company logo, images and more specific descriptions about their business.

Women*s Phone Book has also just released a new feature which it believes to be the first of its kind in New Zealand, an online business networking tool where businesses can invite other businesses into their profile adding credibility and a larger audience for their products and services. Many more developments are planned for the future.

The Women*s Phone Book aims to have 200,000 businesses nationwide registered and an active and daily reviewing community.
