ASB Community Trust Meeting For Northland

ASB Community Trust Meeting For Northland

Northland people will be able to tell ASB Community Trust about projects that need funding when the grant-maker’s staff and trustees visit Whangarei on Saturday, August 16.

It will hold its annual public meeting at Pehiaweri Marae, in Tikipunga, from 1pm, including an application workshop where community group representatives can discuss projects with trust representatives.

The meeting will include a summary of 2008 grants, an overview of the trust’s plans for the year ahead and an explanation of what the trust can – and can’t – fund.

Last year around a quarter of the trust’s grants went to projects and community groups in Northland.

The range included $400,000 to Matakohe’s Kauri Museum; $265,000 to Ngatiwai Trust Board in Whangarei; $264,000 to Wellsford’s Te Hana Community Development Charitable Trust; $96,000 to Dargaville’s Kumarani Productions; $50,000 to Bay of Islands Arts Festival Trust; $20,000 for Whangarei Theatre Company and $2850 for Whangarei Choral Society.

As well, $4 million went toward the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority’s region-wide retrofitting project, which will help insulate houses for low-income families.

More information about the meeting, including directions to the marae, is on the trust’s website: www.ASBCommunityTrust.org.nz

If you plan to attend, please RSVP to info@ASBCommunityTrust.org.nz saying how many people will be in your group.
