Shell drops petrol back under $2 per litre

Petrol is back under $2 per litre after Shell decreased Ultra 91 by 3 cents per litre (cpl) at 5pm tonight. Shell has also decreased diesel by 8 cpl making it 171.9 cpl.
"We have been reviewing prices daily, and despite a steady fall in the Kiwi dollar over the last week, we have seen enough drop in the price of crude to be able to pass on these savings to Kiwi motorists."

• Shell Ultra 91 199.9
• Shell
V-Power (95) 204.9
• Shell Diesel 171.9
Background info:
In the last month, Shell has lead petrol and diesel
price decreases five and four times respectively.
Since
the beginning of August, the Kiwi dollar has dropped in
value by roughly 5%; as Shell buys its fuel in US dollars,
that translates to roughly a 5.5cpl increase in the cost of
crude and refined oil.
