Young achiever to present Lifetime Award
A New Zealand Institute of Building (NZIOB) Young Achiever of the Year has been giving back to the construction industry by serving as the Institute’s Southern Chapter President and will cap his contribution by presenting a prestigious award in Christchurch this week.
Samir Govind, a structural engineer with Beca, will present Sir Miles Warren a Lifetime Achievement Award at a Silver Jubilee dinner hosted by the Institute to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the year NZIOB became an incorporated society.
Mr Govind says it will be a well-deserved honour for the designer of iconic New Zealand buildings like the Christchurch Town Hall and Wellington‘s Michael Fowler Centre and someone who’s been at the forefront of New Zealand's architectural profession for almost forty-five years.
“I’ve recently been working on some local and international projects with the company that Sir Miles co-founded and having appreciated Warren and Mahoney’s work first-hand it will be a great privilege and honour for me to present this special Award.”
