Turners Trucks – the SMART Way to Buy
New Zealand’s leading car sales specialist, Turners Auctions, officially launches its new truck division today, combining auction, valuation and tender services to more effectively meet customers’ needs.
Located at the Turners Penrose super site, the new yard incorporates the expertise of two businesses - Turners Auctions and the specialists in tenders and valuations of used trucks and heavy machinery, Smart Group Services Ltd - to form Turners Trucks, Incorporating Smart Group Services Ltd.
“Establishing a dedicated truck yard has enabled our team of consultants and valuers to provide both on-site auctions and tenders for trucks, as well as valuations – this means that we are able to offer a complete range of services for both buyers and sellers,” says National Truck Manager Ron Sims.
“Having a dedicated truck division will also enable us to increase the volume and quality of trucks we can receive, creating a more varied selection for buyers.”
Historically, Turners Auctions has sold trucks throughout the country via its commercial and industrial yards. In Christchurch and Wellington this is still the case, but the Auckland site had become unsuitable and a specialist truck division offering a comprehensive range of services was deemed necessary.
Turners Auctions bought Smart Group Services Ltd five years ago and, until this year, had been running it as a separate company.
The first auction at the new site, located at 70 Gavin Street, Penrose, was held on July 16. Auctions will take place twice a month on the second and fourth Wednesday from 10.30am. Tenders will run monthly.
