World’s Leading Online Franchise Directory Arrives In New Zealand

On Monday, 3rd November, the world’s most successful online franchise directory, Franchise Expo.Com, will be launching a New Zealand version of the website. The site, which will be based at www.franchiseexpo.co.nz, will allow advertisers to promote their franchise models and will give prospective purchasers the chance to browse through a large variety of local business opportunities.

Experienced franchise consultants, Gary Blyton and Elton Williams, are the brains behind Franchise Expo NZ.

Gary explains: `We have already enjoyed huge success with the Australian version and expect similar things in New Zealand. Since we launched the Australian site in 2004, our portfolio of clients has grown to 511. The number of leads we have generated for clients has also skyrocketed, with 10,000 secured this year alone.

‘We expect the website to be just as popular in New Zealand. In fact, we have already signed over forty businesses to the directory, with numbers increasing by the day.’

The original Franchise Expo concept was developed by the owners of the world’s premier franchise event, International Franchise Expo, which takes place in Washington DC every year. The organisers of the event decided that an online franchise expo would be both cost-effective for participants and user friendly. There are now Franchise Expo websites in 12 countries around the world, ranging from the UK, USA and Australia to Spain, Mexico and Japan.

‘The franchise advertisements on our website are less like listings and more like virtual expo booths,’ explains Elton. ‘Franchisors are able to include much more information than in most other business directories and the design of the site makes for a much more vibrant online experience.

‘We always knew that we wanted to introduce a Kiwi version of Franchise Expo,’ adds Elton. ‘There are so many great franchises in New Zealand but there are limited places for them to promote their businesses. Advertisements in newspapers and magazines get lost in all of the other noise and general business directories just don’t contain enough information. Our website provides a solution. It is a place where franchisors and people genuinely interested in franchise opportunities can come together.’
