Monday, 5 January 2009

Press Release: Christchurch Casino

The Home of New Zealand Poker, Christchurch Casino, holds “not your average poker tournament”.

Adding Lord of the Rings tours, jetboat adventures and alpine safaris to the High Stakes Hold’em Challenge makes the first big competition in 2009 not your average poker tournament.

Running from 28-30 January, and with an entry fee of NZ$5500, this competition is not for the fainthearted, attracting players from around New Zealand and abroad.

Satellites start on Monday 5 January for local players, and winners can earn a place at the main event.

All players will be encouraged to participate on the local adventure tours as a way to get their adrenalin pumping in preparation for their table play.

Brett Anderson, Christchurch Casino CEO commented that “we wanted to start the year on a real high, and what better way than to mix the best of South Island adventure playgrounds with the best of New Zealand High Stakes Hold’em poker.”
