Smart workshops are into Smartcover

Smart workshops are into Smartcover

Here’s how to get more business coming your way – get on-line with Smartcover.

The only network of its kind, Smartcover offers everyday New Zealand motorists a range of products in a comprehensive automotive directory.

Smartcover’s on-line network includes product and service providers, roadside assistance, mechanical warranties, maintenance packages, vehicle inspections, VIR’s, workshop finance, industry discounts, Smartcover Fuel Card 5 cents off per litre and much more.

A nationwide directory, Smartcover’s power is in its leverage from the membership database, to facilitate and negotiate group discounts for fuel and other automotive products and services.

Established in Auckland in 2007, Smartcover has been in development and roll-out for the past year and provides a full nationwide directory of everything automotive.

All businesses can list on the directory for free. There is a range of listings and spaces for business ads.

Consumers are encouraged to review businesses where they have had work done, to not only assist others in making decisions as to where to take their vehicles, but also to demand better services from underperforming outlets.

“Word of mouth referrals can sometimes be the most credible, it’s always hard to tell by looking at a garage if they will do a good job of fixing your car,” says Dan Bagnall, Director of Smartcover.

The system utilises consumer input and rewards consumers with discounted fuel offers, free roadside assistance packages, competitions, services and information which makes visiting the site an inviting prospect for motorists – thus driving them to the Smartcover listings.

Within Smartcover, there are varying levels of workshop participation – the most significant being that of a Smartcover Accredited Workshop.

This network – already at 25 and growing – establishes a reputation for quality service and product range.

The accreditation program is based on real consumers rating the workshop for the benefit of other on-line motorists – a recommendation from an independent, like-minded motorist often carrying more weight than a conventional advertisement.

“When people see the Smartcover Accredited Workshop symbol, they are assured that the business has been assessed and is prepared to step up to the mark to satisfy their customers”, says Dan.

Smartcover offers automotive businesses products to on-sell, established market credibility and use of business tools, enabling a constant source of referred and new customers to their workshops.

Smartcover has also introduced Accredited Car Club Status which applies to non-workshop based businesses in the automotive industry.

These businesses must offer a discount or promotion in order to qualify for their status.

In return, members of the public joining “The Car Club” free via the website, become eligible for all exclusive discounts offered by “The Car Club” accredited businesses.

How has the idea been received so far?

According to Paul Gostick Operations manager for Smartcover “We’ve had an overwhelming response from workshops looking for a support network in the industry. We have built a strong brand with key values so that New Zealanders will come to recognize us as a unique resource in motoring and road-related industries.

“With the current economic situation, people are interested in hearing about any savings they can get for motor-related products, e.g. services and fuel”.
