New awards
good for international business
Export NZ endorses the
New Zealand International Business Awards announced by New
Zealand Trade & Enterprise today.
Export NZ Chairman Ken Stevens says the change from ‘export awards’ to ‘international business awards’ recognises the fact that New Zealand businesses now operate internationally in many different ways.
“Moving away from product categories in favour of categories based on innovation, design and commercialisation of intellectual property better recognises the powerhouse of Kiwi ingenuity,” Mr Stevens said.
“Export NZ will investigate the feasibility of aligning the existing regional Export Awards with the NZ International Business Awards. With many of New Zealand’s strongest exporting companies located in the regions, we want to see those issues of innovation, design and commercialisation of intellectual property strongly promoted to exporters throughout the country.”
Mr Stevens said New Zealand businesses showed great pioneering spirit in their approach to doing business with the world, and the new awards structure would further build on that strength.
Export NZ is a division of Business NZ.
