Eight up for APN at Pride In Print

APN media release (May 2009)

EIGHT UP FOR APN PRINT

APN Print New Zealand earned eight prestigious gold medals at this year’s Pride In Print Awards, with the Manukau site leading the way with five, Tauranga notching two and Ellerslie winning one.

In the company’s heatset division, APN Manukau earned its gold medals for its production of two editions of Mindfood magazine, the Digital Mobile Hot Deals magazine, Rentavision Extreme Deals and Dick Smith Power House.

The coldset division saw gold medals going to APN Print Tauranga (Bay of Plenty Times and The Daily Post) and APN Print Ellerslie (New Zealand Herald).

About 600 people attended the printing industry’s glamour annual event, which this year was presented at Wellington Convention Centre on Friday May 8.

APN Print COO, Brian Hood says the focus on customer service and quality standards was helping position the company to handle the stresses of recession.

“The success of both the coldset and heatset divisions shows our versatility and also shows that our quality commitment extends across the board, to all forms of printing.

“Given the difficulties facing the economy as a whole and the print industry in particular, commitment to customers by providing great service and quality is essential if to our future success and for that matter, the success of the industry. It is a credit to our staff and pleasing to have APN Print’s push for excellence duly recognised in front of our peers.”
