Good Bastards Reldar the alternative to Montieths
Good Bastards Reldar the alternative to Montieths Radler
Giday all
We are having a bit of fun with the Damian O'Connor tagged Deceitful Bastards and there underarm bowl by their trademarking the name Radler.
Radler is a beer style that had its origin in Germany. As the story goes there was this annual bike race and this particular pub was a well patronized location on the route.
On one of these years the publican was fast running out of beer so he extended what he had by topping up his kegs with lemonade and lo and behold it was a great success.
He continued on each year and the brew was adopted as a worldwide style.
Einstein would probably say that only a devious bastard would be arrogant enough to sneak in under the radar and register the style as a trademark. Something various boffins of the law have said is not permissible under normal trademark laws.
A very good craft brewery in Dunedin decided to do what hundreds of craft brewers have done all over the world and brew some beer under the Radler style.
This mob of parasite bullies moguls suelled their vulture legal team on to these little blokes in Dunedin and shut them down.
While a leading firm of Trademark Solicitors have picked up the cudgel and are challenging the whole thing pro-bono (free) so maybe these parasites will once more get their come uppence for their bully and arrogant tactics.
In the spirit of larrikinism political incorrectness and stick it up the big bastards we decided to come up with an alternative to this half flash Radler.
We call it Good Bastards Reldar (Radler spelt backwards) and from expert beer buffs," it tastes significantly better than the crappy Montieths Radler".
It is available from the The Thirsty Bloke Bottle Shop at 161 Victoria Street Christchurch . It is only available in 2 litre Riggers. (www.thirstybloke.com coming on line in June where you can choose from 150 different craft beers and have delivered to your door or place a regular order for your favorite beer every month or have a Thirsty Bloke different mixed two dozen or one dozen delivered to your door monthly.
