New Website Shoots Stationery Prices To Pieces
New Stationery Website Shoots Stationery Prices To Pieces
How can you buy a box of 100 50c stamps for
$45.90? By shopping on the web,
says Bruce Hughson of
Stationery Online, New Zealand's first
cut-price,
web-based stationery supplier.
How can it be
done better? It's a question we often ask ourselves, but
the
answer isn't always forthcoming. For Hughson,
however, it was. "I've been
involved in the stationery
buying business for years and I felt it just
wasn't as
efficient as it could be," says Hughson. "I wanted to find a
way
to be able to buy stationery cheaper, but still make
sure it was top
quality and of course, provide top
service."
The solution Hughson came up with is Stationery
Online,
www.stationeryonline.co.nz a website
providing stationery supplies at
everyday low prices for
small and medium businesses nationwide. Orders are
placed
online, with phone support available (0800 559 339), and
delivery
occurs between 24 and 48 hours by courier
throughout the country. It's an
exciting new idea, with
no equivalent elsewhere in New Zealand.
"We have found
that companies are extremely interested in us,"
says
Hughson. "Already they can see that we provide an
opportunity for them to
save money, and in these
recessionary times, cutting costs can be the key
to
survival for many businesses."
The advantages of shopping
online are obvious. The site is available 24/7
and having
fewer overheads than a shop means being able to pass on
the
savings to customers. Payment is easy too, simply by
Visa or Mastercard,
which means that customers can
collect reward points when they buy.
Hughson says,
"Stationery online has no reps, no printed catalogues and
no
debtors ledger. All of these business savings lead to
lower everyday
stationery buy prices. We spend less, you
save more."
Free delivery is offered on orders over $200.
The product line up includes
all stationery, inks and
toners, computer consumables and accessories. And
there's
no lack of detail on exactly what you're buying - the site
gives
detailed information and pictures on all
products.
"I'm really pleased with the feedback and
business we're getting," says
Hughson. "We have spent a
lot of time and effort developing the best system
to
offer the right product at the right price and with fast,
reliable
delivery. Customers are returning, and letting
us know that we've got it
right. We've issued a challenge
and people are taking it up - 'dare to
compare our
prices'. If you want to save on stationery, we have the
answer
- our
website."
