Pink Insurance now offers Redundancy cover

Pink Insurance, providing Kiwi women with financial security when they need it most, now offers Redundancy cover

Pink Insurance, New Zealand’s only tailor-made insurance package designed specifically for women by women, now offers Redundancy cover. With Health, Trauma, Income and Life covers, women are able to customise a package to provide them with financial freedom when they need it most.

Kiwi women have been quick to embrace this unique product that has identified and addressed conditions specific to women. Since the launch of Pink Insurance in 2007, growth in market share has seen this women-only business take on two new Insurance Advisors, Kim Fischer and Maxine Arden, this month alone.

Pink Insurance base policies take into account early stage cancer, and diagnosis of conditions including Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neurone disease and Parkinson’s disease. “Clients aren’t forced to pay for extra bells and whistles to get early compensation, or wait until they’re unable to perform a standard daily activity just to make an insurance claim” says Kim. “Our focus is on enabling women to live their life.”

Treatment costs for major illnesses such as cancer are covered under health cover, irrespective of whether these costs are subsidised by Pharmac or not. Since Pink Insurance was created the cost of being treated with Herceptin has been covered.

Further benefits of Pink Insurance policies enable clients the increase their amount of financial cover when special events occur including marriage, the birth or adoption of a child, a mortgage increase of the purchase a new property.

In addition to being the only insurance product on the market created specifically for women, Pink Insurance has been quick to acknowledge problems relating to compliance in the insurance sector and put steps in place to provide clients with a professional service second-to-none.

“Trying to ensure they are covered for all possible medical scenarios is a daunting experience, let alone ensuring that when it comes to claim time they will get paid what they are expecting.” says Kim. “Clients are provided with peace of mind knowing that Pink Insurance is underwritten by ING Life, one of the few companies in the market rated by external industry standards as an A+ provider.”

Despite the current economic downturn, Pink Insurance continues to increase in popularity as the implications of a failing public system hit home.

“Statistics related to health and trauma are not often spoken about, and the possible impact on us as individuals is not well understood” says Maxine. “We’ve all read stories of our over-stretched and under-resourced public health system. However the potential consequences on our individual lives is heart-wrenching.”

In New Zealand an average of 3,684 people per month have been waiting for longer than six months for their first specialist assessment through the public health system. There are 2,479 new breast cancer registrations with 647 deaths from the disease in one year. Only 30% of permanent disability claims are related to accidents leaving 70% of New Zealanders with no ACC subsidy and life changing financial implications should they survive a trauma or critical illness.

Women can contact Pink Insurance advisers through their website www.pinkinsurance.net.nz. It’s free to meet with advisers to get a better understanding of the product, discuss individual needs from insurance cover or work through a quotation to suit specific budgets. In fact all service from an adviser is free including support during claims and future reassessments of policy needs.

With an aim of helping the community as a whole, the first two months of every premium payout is donated to the Women for Women Charitable Trust and goes towards helping women in the community. The Trust was established at the same time as Pink Insurance and supports women in times of financial hardship when they are unable to pay medical bills or insurance premiums.
