DairyNZ Director To Join Agresearch Board
DairyNZ is welcoming the news one of its directors, Barry Harris, has been appointed to the board of AgResearch.
“Barry is a very skilled director, with a lot to contribute. I am sure AgResearch will benefit from having him on the board,” says DairyNZ Chairman John Luxton.
“There are also some key advantages for DairyNZ to have a director who sits on both boards. DairyNZ is a major funder of AgResearch, and Barry’s appointment will help ensure we are getting the best value from our investment of our levy-payers’ dollars. He will also bring to the AgResearch board a focus on the type of work that is going to deliver real improvements for dairy farmers.”
Former Chief Executive of the Wellington Regional Council and Environment Waikato, for the last four years Barry has been the Director of Fonterra Milk Supply. He was responsible for achieving Fonterra's milk growth goals in a way that is profitable for farmers and sustainable for the environment.
