Unions Table Revised Position: Bus NZ
Unions Table Revised Position - Mediation Scheduled For Thursday 17th September
The Auckland Combined Unions tabled their formal position at mediation on Tuesday 15 September.
Representatives from NZ Bus and the Auckland Combined Unions representing bus drivers and cleaners who work for Metrolink, North Star, Go West, Waka Pacific, LINK and City Circuit bus services attended mediation this morning.
“On Monday we asked that the Unions clarify their position to us, post stopwork meeting. They have done that in this morning’s mediation” says Mr Fulljames. “Their previous claim of 70 cents an hour articulated in the media last week, has increased to a $1 an hour today.“
The company offer of 10.4% over three years is a substantial one and represents an additional 4.75 million dollars to Auckland employees over the period.
“We are now going to take some time to consider their position” says Fulljames. “In an effort to keep the door open and discussion progressing, we have penciled in mediation for Thursday 17 September.”
“We apologise sincerely to our customers for this ongoing uncertainty and can confirm that buses will continue to operate as normal. “
