September 2009 Monthly traffic update
International
passenger volumes showed growth of 4.5% in September 2009
compared to the prior year. Transit and transfers were down
17.1% resulting in a net 1.2% increase over September 2008.
Arrivals from Australia continued to experience strong growth due to increased capacity and increased competition.
Arrivals from United States of America were up against September 2009 which represents a significant positive change from the previous 12 months.
There were signs of recovery in the North Asian market with China passenger arrivals showing growth in September on the prior year, while the reductions on prior year in South Korea and Japan improved versus the previous twelve month trends.
