Go Otago Calls to Businesses for 2010 Event
MEDIA RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
13/11/2009
Go Otago has set its date and
will be held on Sunday 21 March 2010 once again at the
Taieri Agricultural Park. Go Otago is a chance for
Otago-based businesses and organisations to showcase their
products and services to a wide audience. Exhibitors and
participants for the 2010 event are currently being
sought.
“If you’re an Otago-based business or
organisation wishing to showcase your products or services
then this is a unique opportunity not to be missed. We are
now taking registrations for the 2010 event and are calling
for the support of all stallholders, businesses and
entertainers.” said event co-ordinator Victoria Bunton
from Sequel Events.
Go Otago celebrates Otago
Anniversary by incorporating entertainment, exhibits and
activities in a fun family day out. The event is all about
celebrating the region and showcasing what it has to offer
to the local community. Past events have been extremely
popular and the 2010 event will build upon this
success.
A feature of the 2010 event will be the
return of the popular Big Dig Children’s Event. Children
will dig for tags in the 30m of sawdust which are then
redeemed for prizes. Otago businesses are currently being
contacted to donate prizes to this event.
In 1999, a
group of Dunedin citizens formed a not for profit
Incorporated Trust (Go Otago Exhibition Society) whose aim
was to initiate a charitable event to uplift and inspire
Otago people to celebrate Otago Anniversary Day in 2000.
This event has since been successfully run biennially by the
voluntary committee and event co-ordinator.
