Customs costs on Hamilton Airport unfair and unacceptable
The threat being faced by Hamilton Airport by new Customs Department costs is unfair and unacceptable, says Waikato’s Employers and Manufacturers Association, EMA Waikato.
“Customs is demanding Hamilton pay for services it delivers at no cost in every other established international airport in New Zealand,” said the chair of EMA Waikato, Jack Ninnes.
“Why are we being singled out?
“The extra cost at $450,000 a year is a considerable amount, and its not true that Hamilton airport is a new international terminal as Customs is claiming.
“Waikato business is up in arms over these unfair costs.”
