Refurbished SBS Bank Papanui reopens doors

SBS Bank staff members at Papanui in Christchurch are getting ready to celebrate with the reopening of their branch on Monday (22 February) after more than six weeks of major refurbishment work.

SBS Bank Papanui manager Mike Brownie said when it came to SBS Bank’s customers, it was all about making things better for them.

“We’re extremely grateful to all our SBS Bank customers who have been so patient during the renovations.

“Redirecting customers to do their banking at one of our three other Christchurch branches has not been ideal but we know the inconvenience has been worthwhile and everyone is going to love the changes,” Mr Brownie said.

The Papanui branch was established in August 2001 and was deserving of some pampering. Because of the extent of the work, the branch had to be closed during the refurbishment.

“We’re all extremely excited to welcome everyone back to our new, improved branch, complete with our trademark, relaxed branch ambience, comfy couches and welcoming cup of hot coffee.”

The official Papanui relaunch will be held next Thursday 25 February with SBS Bank chief executive Ross Smith and general manager corporate performance Lana Winders attending. Around 100 key SBS Bank community members have been invited along to see the branch redevelopment and take part in the celebrations.
