Nielsen Announces New NZ Commercial Director

Nielsen Announces New NZ Commercial Director Appointment

Auckland, 6 April 2010 — The New Zealand online division of The Nielsen Company has today announced the appointment of Amanda Wisniewski as Commercial Director, effective immediately.

Wisniewski has been promoted to the role of Commercial Director from her previous position as Client Service Director for Nielsen’s online division, following the recent promotion of Ivan Fuyala from General Manager of the NZ online business to Vice President of Portals in Nielsen’s global client service team based in New York.

In her previous role as Client Services Director, which she has held for just over two years, Wisniewski was responsible for client communication and managing publisher and agency relationships, and this strong client focus will continue in her new role. She will also take on responsibility for managing the New Zealand online team, as well as leading the roll-out of Nielsen’s online panel in 2010.

“Amanda is an experienced media professional with a strong understanding of Internet audience measurement,” states Fuyala. “She is well-known and well-regarded within agencies and publishing houses and I am confident she will do a great job leading our New Zealand team and the planned online panel role out.”

“This new role represents an exciting challenge for me and one that I am very much looking forward to,” says Wisniewski. “2010 is shaping up to be an exciting year in New Zealand for Nielsen and for the digital sector as a whole, and I look forward to continuing to build on the great work that Ivan has done in recent years.”

Wisniewski has previously held senior Client Service roles in Sydney and Auckland with Nielsen//NetRatings and Nielsen Media Research (both are now The Nielsen Company). She has also worked with Fairfax Media as a Digital Analyst.

In his new role, Fuyala will be focused on exploring innovative ways for Nielsen to work with large clients such as Google, YouTube, Double Click and AOL.

“It is a big move packing up the house, bundling up the kids and swapping the Hauraki Gulf for the Hudson River but the opportunity was too exciting to pass up,” says Fuyala.

Fuyala has been with Nielsen’s online business since 2006, providing publishers, agencies and marketing professionals with the information they need to make informed decisions online. In previous roles with publishers such as ACP Media, he launched a number of successful magazines and websites.

Nielsen has also announced the appointment of Nick Whitehead as Account Director for its online business in New Zealand, responsible for managing agency relationships. Whitehead joins the business from his previous role as Group Account Manager at TVNZ. He has also held previous roles with FCB and Time Magazine.
