Rising Star To Support Queenstown’s Ziptrek Team

Qeenstown’s new flying fox eco-adventure is delighted to welcome well-known local Lauren Davis to its Sales and Marketing team.

Twenty-eight year-old Lauren has been promoted to Sales and Marketing Co-ordinator at Ziptrek Ecotours after spending four months in the company’s Guest Services team.

“We could immediately see that Lauren’s people skills, energy and drive were going to be a real asset to our team,” says Ziptrek Managing Director Trent Yeo. “She has a strong background in adventure tourism, is well known around Queenstown and has strong industry relationships which are invaluable for us as a new company. We’re confident that she’ll make a big impact in this important role.”

According to Mr Yeo, Lauren will become the “face” of Ziptrek in Queenstown. Her primary responsibility will be to generate interest in Ziptrek and build strong local partnerships and she will also assist Sales and Marketing Manager Nicky Busst with developing relationships and partnerships with key local and national operators.

Mr Yeo says they’re delighted to recruit Lauren from within the company.

“Part of our business philosophy is career development for our staff. Our aim is to pick people who fit with our values and advance them as opportunities arise. This way we retain and build on their knowledge and experience.”

Lauren has a diploma in adventure eco-tourism and, before joining Ziptrek, spent almost six years working for Queenstown’s Kawarau Jet. She was responsible for the day-to-day running of the pier, daily sales, staff and timely departure of all the boats as well as assisting the marketing manager and sales representative when required.

Lauren is delighted and looking forward to getting stuck into her new role.

“It’s exciting and very rewarding to help establish a new business and grow its market share. This role is perfect for me because it combines selling a product I completely believe in, together with building relationships and talking to people, which is also something I love doing,” she says.
