Webby success for The Yellow Treehouse

Webby success for The Yellow Treehouse

The Yellow Treehouse (an AIM Proximity / Colenso BBDO campaign) has won a Webby Award in the Telecommunications category.

Established in 1996, The Webby Awards are the Internet’s most respected symbol of success with entries coming from over 100 categories in websites, videos, music and other Internet applications. Each award is judged by the 650 members of the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences.

Adam Good, CEO, AIM Proximity said: “Yellow Tree house is a game changing piece of communication that is admired both locally and on a global scale. To win a Webby award that honors global excellence on the Internet is brilliant. It’s the cherry on top to the string of other awards collected in the past year, including Cannes Lion, the Asian Effies, Axis, John Caples, RSVP and the Asia Pacific Digital Media Awards. Congrats all those that were involved at Yellow, Colenso and AIM Proximity. Job Done!”

Martha Stewart and “The Simpsons” creator Matt Groening were among the members of the Academy who selected Webby Awards winners. In addition, people from around the world chose the winners of The Webby People's Awards – and with almost one million votes cast this was a new Webby record.

The Academy is an intellectually diverse organisation that includes members such as musicians Beck and David Bowie, Internet inventor Vint Cerf, political columnist Arianna Huffington, “The Simpsons" creator Matt Groening, R/GA Founder and Chairman Robert Greenberg and Virgin Atlantic Chairman and Founder Richard Branson. Members also include writers and editors from publications such as The New York Times, Wired, Details, Fast Company, Elle, The Los Angeles Times, Vibe, and WallPaper.
