Kitchen Things focuses on growth and appoints new Chief Executive

The Board of Directors of “Kitchen Things Holdings Limited ” recently set and agreed their strategic goal of positioning “Kitchen Things “ as the brand of choice in the domestic and commercial markets of New Zealand, with supporting strategies that include expanding their distribution network throughout all main city locations within New Zealand, over the next three years.

“Today, Kitchen Things are delighted to announce an important step toward achieving this goal by announcing the appointment of their new Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Rob MacGregor, who has been tasked with positioning the Kitchen Things Brand for the future” say’s Mr. John Gilbert, Independent Director, Kitchen Things Holdings Limited.

Rob MacGregor brings to Kitchen Things a wealth of senior business management experience. His most recent appointment as CEO of United Travel Limited and prior to that as the CEO of Office Products Depot Limited, both iconic brands within New Zealand.

“I am very excited at the opportunity to work with such a progressive organisation that is firmly focused on positioning the “Kitchen Things” brand within New Zealand as a very strong contender in the domestic and commercial kitchen appliance market,” says Rob MacGregor.

“Kitchen Things already has a strong proposition for their customers, however we now need to raise that bar and focus on being the specialists in the kitchen and laundry appliance markets and to establish a clear leadership position,” he says.

“We will look to refine, strengthen and expand our franchise model to ensure we have the agility required to move at the speed necessary to stay at the forefront of a highly competitive Industry. Key to our success will come from establishing a strong relationship with our customers, establishing a business partnership with a select group of supportive and committed suppliers, expanding our network of store locations and building a highly skilled and engaged franchise network.”

Rob MacGregor has taken up his new role effective 1 June 2010 and he will be located at the group’s central support office located in North Shore City, Auckland.
