Pacific Blue's Highest Domestic on-Time Record

Pacific Blue Records Highest Domestic on-Time Performance Result of 97% in May

Thursday 10 June 2010: Pacific Blue recorded its highest ever domestic on-time performance in May with 97% of flights departing on time.

Pacific Blue was the first airline in New Zealand to regularly publish its domestic on-time performance results when it began reporting monthly figures online in the middle of last year.

The airline counts on-time as flights that depart within 15 minutes of their scheduled departure time.

Pacific Blue’s CEO, Mark Pitt, said the May figure of 97% set a high benchmark for the airline.

“We have consistently focused on our on-time performance because it’s a strong indicator that we’re delivering a quality service to our Guests.

“Since the beginning of this year we have reported domestic monthly OTP of 94% or higher. The May result of 97% continues a very positive trend for the year to date.”

When recording its domestic OTP results Pacific Blue makes no exceptions for bad weather, air traffic control, delays from suppliers, unscheduled maintenance, consequences of previous delays or anything else.

The airline’s domestic on-time performance is easily found on its website at www.flypacificblue.com via the “Flight Info” menu button, or at the URL below:
