Arc’s Chief Executive Finalist In The New Zealand Energy Sector Excellence Awards.
Christchurch based company Arc Innovations is thrilled its Chief Executive, Simon Clarke, has been announced as a finalist in the Young Energy Executive of the Year category, in the inaugural New Zealand Energy Sector Excellence Awards.
The New Zealand Energy Sector Excellence Awards recognise excellence and achievement across the electricity, oil, gas and petroleum industries.
“I’m absolutely delighted to be chosen as a finalist for this award and extremely pleased to be recognised by my peers in the energy industry” says Simon Clarke, Chief Executive, Arc Innovations.
Simon Clarke took over as CEO of Arc Innovations in March 2009 at the age of 36. Over the last 15 months he has lead the organisation through a period of substantial change. The implementation of this has put Arc at the forefront of smart metering in New Zealand and positioned the organisation well for further growth opportunities.

advanced metering solution is not just about ‘smart’
meters,” says Clarke.
“It is a turn-key solution
comprised of consulting, meter data management systems
(MDMS), integration, deployment, and support services to
enable the most valuable, cost-effective, and future-proofed
AMI implementation.”
Simon Clarke emphasizes “dedication to our customers is reflected in everything we do,” he says.
Through Clarke’s leadership Arc has
delivered some significant achievements
including:
• Successful completion of a deployment of
125,000 smart meters in Christchurch in June 2009 (currently
the Southern Hemisphere’s largest smart metering
deployment) ;
• A strong financial performance against
08/09 and 09/10 financial year budgets;
Arc Innovations is the New Zealand leader in the development, deployment, and management of advanced meter infrastructure (AMI) technology and services.
Simon Clarke has law and politics degrees from the University of Otago. He is also a member of the Institute of Directors and has completed an Advanced Management Program at Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania. Simon is married with two young daughters aged five and six.
The inaugural Deloitte Energy Excellence Awards are being held in Wellington on September 8, 2010 to recognise achievement and excellence in the New Zealand energy sector.
