Polycom Strengthens New Zealand Presence

Polycom Strengthens New Zealand Presence with Appointment of High-achieving Leader Mr. Darryn Keiller appointed to newly created role of New Zealand Director of Sales

Sydney, 13 July 2010 – Polycom Inc. (NASDAQ: PLCM), the largest independent global provider of telepresence, video and voice communications solutions, has moved to further reinforce its leadership position in New Zealand with the appointment of Mr. Darryn Keiller as New Zealand Director of Sales. Mr. Keiller will be responsible for guiding Polycom’s business in New Zealand, and for extending the company’s share of key markets – particularly the fast-growing video conferencing market, where Polycom is the dominant player locally.

Mr. Keiller’s appointment marks the latest milestone in Polycom’s aggressive expansion strategy in the region. Most recently, Polycom announced Datastor (NZ) Limited as its distributor in the New Zealand market, and the appointment of long-standing partner Asnet Technologies Ltd as the first Polycom Platinum reseller in New Zealand.

In his new role, Mr. Keiller will be responsible for building the New Zealand business through expanding the certified reseller network and engaging with key partners in the Polycom Open Collaboration Network – including HP, IBM, Microsoft and Juniper Networks – to deliver easy-to-deploy, open standards-based collaboration solutions within Unified Communications environments.

“New Zealand is at the vanguard of the global shift to the ubiquitous adoption of HD video and telepresence communications,” said Mr. Michael Chetner, Managing Director for Australia and New Zealand, at Polycom. “As the clear market leader, Polycom sees tremendous growth potential for our business in New Zealand. Appointing Darryn to this new position is a key pillar of our strategy to assertively take advantage of that potential and extend Polycom’s market share in sectors like the small to medium business market.”

Mr. Chetner added: “Polycom’s business is at a key inflection point and with the best solutions for customers, it is now time to take it into overdrive. Darryn’s knowledge of the New Zealand market, his customer-centric approach, and capacity to drive even more success with the Polycom Open Collaboration Network will undoubtedly propel consistent market gains for Polycom’s business in New Zealand.”

Mr. Keiller commented: "I’m extremely excited to be joining Polycom at this time. By definition, unified communications is open, and Polycom continues to help drive open standards and industry interoperability, as well as driving down the costs associated with bandwidth. As a result, there is great momentum for Polycom to further cement its leadership going forward.”

Prior to joining Polycom, Mr. Keiller held senior management roles with LexisNexis New Zealand and Hewlett Packard including Compaq Computers over 10 years working in a variety of sales, marketing, strategy and management roles.
