ComOps Nets Salesforce Automation Contract Catch At Sealord

Auckland, 23 July 2010 – ComOps, a leading Australasian provider of business software products and services, today announced that Sealord, the market leading seafood brand in New Zealand, has selected the ComOps SAM and SAM Analytics mobile sales force automation solution for deployment among its New Zealand national sales force.

The ComOps solution will run on Motorola Windows mobile devices, replacing a manual, spreadsheet-based system for sales reporting and will enable the company’s 15-strong retail sales team and company management to gain immediate visibility into sales and stock trends at each of its several hundred retail customer touch points. At the same time, ComOps SAM will enable individual Territory Managers to tailor promotions for specific customers by fast tracking the capture and analysis of key sales data which will help the company to develop marketing opportunities for individual store sales growth.

Joel Bourke, National Sales Manager, Sealord New Zealand, said, “We selected ComOps following a competitive review and chose ComOps based on its strong national customer footprint in New Zealand and Australia, SAM’s rich feature functionality and its agile reporting system specifically tailored to the New Zealand market.”

A key benefit is that ComOps SAM will seamlessly integrate with the company’s Navision ERP platform and Promax trade promotion management software enabling Sealord to automatically generate key sales performance and drill down on information by territory, store and individual product brand. The information will then be distributed to field sales and managers via an intuitive browser-based dashboard.

Remote access to head office systems in Auckland will ensure that sales teams and company management have daily synchronised data enabling visibility into the latest product, pricing and promotional information. This will result in faster decision-making and improved customer service.

“Ultimately, our sales team will be able to spend more time with customers making strategic decisions based on accurate data and less time manually forwarding information to head office. We will now receive data which we can analyse in real time and make decisions on the ground in store. We’ll also be able to review competitor activity and give sales managers visibility on a territory-wide level. Improvements in resource allocation, market intelligence, and customer information is the end game,” said Bourke.

Sealord, one of New Zealand’s leading brands, prides itself in providing an extensive range of top quality seafood products. The wider Sealord Group sells more than 1500 products to customers worldwide and owns the Queensland-based King Reef Group, the largest capacity barramundi aquaculture operation in Australia. It also has a 50% shareholding in leading Tasmanian ocean trout company, Petuna Aquaculture and a strategic marketing alliance in Australia with Kailis Bros.

“We believe that the comprehensive and customised ComOps training in the next few weeks will enable us to rapidly understand the solution’s key features which in turn will assist with our speedy transition from manual reporting,” said Bourke.

ComOps SAM is currently being deployed and will go live during October 2010
