SLI Systems' new Senior Management Appointments

SLI Systems Announces two Senior Management Appointments

Christchurch-based SLI Systems, the international provider of on-demand, intelligent search and navigation services for e-commerce and other content-rich sites, has appointed American business development and marketing veteran Thierry Costa to lead its global marketing. Geoff Brash, co-founder of the company and formerly SLI’s vice president of marketing, has become vice president of business intelligence.

SLI Systems’ chief executive Shaun Ryan has welcomed the appointments saying that the company will leverage Thierry’s 15-year plus experience in the software industry. This appointment will strengthen SLI’s brand, optimise sales force readiness and further capitalise on the growing demand for Software-as-a-Service on-site search solutions for e-commerce, publishing and other industries. Thierry will report to Shaun Ryan and work from the company’s Silicon Valley office in San Jose.

Shaun Ryan said, “Thierry Costa has a wealth of experience and has held a number of senior roles in product marketing and product management in the software sector.”

Prior to joining SLI Systems, Thierry was vice president of marketing at Exaprotect and Reportive. He also held several senior marketing positions at a number of technology companies, including natural language search provider InQuira, e-commerce platform provider BroadVision and Hewlett-Packard. He has an MBA and Bachelor of Science degree from Carnegie Mellon University.

Geoff Brash, in his new role as vice president of business intelligence, will oversee the measurement and analysis of business drivers across all the company’s divisions and regions. He will be responsible for the measurement and analysis of business information that can improve business processes and enable richer company and product assessments that will ultimately lead to enhanced products and services for customers and streamlined operational efficiencies.

“Geoff’s new role is a result of the company’s accelerated growth in recent years and the need to strengthen our marketing presence in our largest market, the United States,” said Shaun Ryan.

Prior to co-founding SLI, Geoff was engineering manager at the former leading Internet portal Snap/NBCi.com. He has held senior roles in the public and banking sectors, is an active member of several New Zealand software associations, and has an MBA from Massey University.

Shaun Ryan said, “I welcome Thierry to the SLI team and look forward to working closely with him and the executive team to further align the company’s informational needs with sales and marketing goals. His background and expertise will greatly benefit us as we continue to grow.

“These are exciting times for SLI Systems. We’re seeing broader industry adoption of our site search technology and services on a global scale and we’ve recently added a number of people to our team to enhance sales, marketing and product development efforts. By having Thierry join us to oversee marketing, and shifting Geoff’s focus to increase our analysis of our overall business performance, we’ll be well-equipped to meet increasing market demand while continuing to innovate new features that will deliver bottom-line benefits to clients and prospects,” Shaun Ryan said.
