House of Travel joins forces with AirAsia X

Hot off the back of the AirAsia X launch in Christchurch this week, House of Travel is helping you take off to your favourite holiday destinations from as little as $99.

House of Travel has partnered with the Malaysian-based carrier to introduce some of the most competitive long-haul international holiday deals ever seen in New Zealand.

At 12:30pm today (NZT), AirAsia X will launch exclusive introductory, low cost, one-way direct flights from Christchurch to Kuala Lumpur from as low as $99. In partnership with AirAsia X, House of Travel is packaging flights with accommodation and transfers to Phuket, Penang and Bali from as little as $799 return share twin for seven nights.

House of Travel Retail Director, Brent Thomas says the introduction of AirAsia X to the New Zealand market will benefit Kiwi travellers.

“For those New Zealanders planning their holiday for 2011, here’s the chance to get to Asia for the lowest prices ever seen in New Zealand,” he says.

“Having a low cost carrier in the South Island will result in increased competition in the market, which is very positive for New Zealand travellers,” he explains.

“The low fares that the entry of AirAsia X brings will stimulate new demand and allow the overall market to grow. And travellers will be able to take advantage of some groundbreaking travel deals to some of their favourite locations.”

These exclusive AirAsia X travel packages are available from House of Travel retail stores from midday December 3rd until 5th December, or until fares have sold out.

The first AirAsia X flight will depart from Christchurch Airport on 1st April 2011. Travel times for the promotional fares are from 1st April until 10th November 2011.
