Dr Andrew West appointed to Board of Deer Industry New Zealand
Andrew Macfarlane, Chairman of Deer Industry New Zealand, announced the appointment of Dr Andrew West to the Board of Deer Industry New Zealand.
Dr West has comprehensive experience across the NZ primary industries & central and local government, in particular in science & technology, tertiary education and manufacturing. He is a professional director with a broad mix of primary sector directorships, runs a consultancy and works part time for an animal feeds company.
“I am very pleased to welcome Dr West to the Deer Industry New Zealand Board” said Andrew Macfarlane. “He brings an innate understanding of the value of skills, knowledge and technologies in the role of wealth creation and environmental management. This has direct application to the New Zealand deer industry as it continues to position itself to profitably grow and market the world’s best red meat”.
Dr West was appointed by the processors and marketers of New Zealand venison and will serve until 30 June 2012.
