Northland Firm Uber Group in Regional Broadband Contract

MEDIA RELEASE Uber Group, Whangarei 22 March 2011

Northland Firm Uber Group in Regional Broadband Contract

Local ulta-fast Broadband provider Uber Group have secured a position alongside major players Telstra, Vodafone and Telecom in the rollout of broadband services to Northland.

The news is welcomed by Uber Group, which has been delivering ultra-fast broadband services throughout Northland for six years. According to Uber Group Director, Hayden Simon, “Our existing client base is primarily in the Health Sector and in rural areas. Being named as a preferred regional retailer of broadband services allows us to extend the wireless network we own and run to new subscribers, particularly to those in high-demand urban areas. New subscribers will find the speed, quality and pricing of our services to be very competitive. More than anything, we look forward to giving new customers a reliable, efficient and hassle-free experience of broadband.”

Crown Fibre Holdings, the government agency with responsibility to manage the Crown’s investment in ultra-fast broadband infrastructure, have been quick to point out that successful broadband retailers are expected to offer superior internet and voice services at prices which are competitive with what customers currently pay for ‘copper wire’ communications.

Inclusion in the regional broadband initiative is recognition that Uber Group’s ultra-fast, ultra-reliable and ultra-priced broadband services provide a sound strategic fit with what Crown Fibre Holdings are commissioned to deliver and what end-users are to expect.
