Hewlett-Packard South Pacific announced as laser market leader

Latest IDC results show overall laser category growing at 33 per cent year on year

AUCKLAND, 24 March, 2011 –


Hewlett-Packard (HP) today announced it has achieved the number one position in the laser print market in South Pacific which includes Australia and New Zealand, according to the latest results provided by leading analyst firm, International Data Corporation (IDC) 1.

This is in a very positive market which saw the overall laser hardware market across Australia and New Zealand experience growth of 33 per cent year on year from 2009 to 2010, driven by growth in the small business category 2.

HP ePrint allows small businesses to better streamline their business processes, by offering the ability to print and share quality work in an instant, and cutting back on the time spent on administrative tasks while away from the office. Having the ability to print high-quality, fast presentations, invoices and work documents while on the road means improved productivity for their business.

HP Print Apps also offers small businesses the option to print up-to-date content from the web without a PC. Available directly on the printer's touchscreen display, businesses can access content such as:

- Yahoo!7 Daily Brief New Zealand's first daily news Print App allows direct access and print for local news and headlines, as well as Yahoo! Calendars, to share calendars in daily, weekly or monthly views.

- Google Docs for easy document scanning to the web for printing at a later time.

- Box.net to scan, share, manage and access business content online.

- Biztree for immediate access to business forms such as invoices, contracts, receipts, legal agreements and checklists.

The IDC results also ranked HP in the number one position in the colour laser print market3.
