A new era
The New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants (NZICA) has today welcomed the official formation yesterday of the Financial Markets Authority (FMA), and is looking forward to working together with the FMA on auditor regulation.
“We are ready to roll up our sleeves and get on with our part of the partnership”, says NZICA Chief Executive Terry McLaughlin.
NZICA is fully focussed on ensuring its auditors licensed under the new regime continue to provide high quality audit services to entities raising money from the public.
“We look forward to working with the FMA on finalising the finer details of the framework for co-regulation,” says Mr McLaughlin.
