Wellington accountants must ‘add up’ to meet new criteria

Miller Associates (Porirua Limited), business advisors and chartered accountants, is among more than 69 accountancy practices across Australasia that have joined forces to create a professional network and share their intellectual property and specialist knowledge.

Members of Proactive Accountants Network have banned charging ‘by the clock’ and will offer a full business advisory service, in a move designed to better service small and medium enterprises.

The Proactive Accountants Network is an initiative of respected industry consultant Nixon Advantage.

Mid tier firms such as WHK, PKF, HLB Mann Judd, ACCRU, Sothertons, BYRONS and Bush & Campbell have all joined forces, giving the Proactive Accountants Network combined annual billings of more than $128 million

Nixon Advantage CEO Rob Nixon said the network was designed to lift standards among the smaller firms, ensuring they were offering the best possible service to provide a genuine, cost effective alternative to the ‘Big Four’.

“Members share knowledge and best practice examples amongst one another meaning even the smaller firms can offer the same services as the big four, just in a more personalised way,” he said.

David Miller from Miller Associates said his firm had signed on to the Proactive Accountants Network because he believed that in the future all clients would want an accredited supplier.
