Top 3 Search Engine Optimisation Tips For NZ Business

Top 3 Search Engine Optimisation Tips For New Zealand Businesses

Business owners have come to understand that the old adage of ‘build it, and they will come’ does not apply to websites. What happens in reality is ‘build it, and it will be lost in cyber space’, that is, until they learn about search engine optimisation (SEO for short).

Search engine optimisation is the process of optimising a website for search engines, with the ultimate goal of appearing high in the search results for targeted terms.

There are many search engine optimisation companies in New Zealand. However, not all are as good as they purport to be. Pure SEO (www.pureseo.co.nz) is one of the best. The team is based out of their office on St Georges Bay Road in Parnell. Pure SEO offers ethical and results-driven search engine optimization.

Richard Conway, the Managing Director of Pure SEO and an all-round search engine marketing (SEM) guru highlights three ‘top tips’ that businesses can implement to improve their own rankings:

1. Local Search – Listing your business on Google Places is now crucial. Google Places listings are now displayed on a large number of search results. The thing to make sure is that the information is both accurate and 100% complete.

2. META Data – The Meta title and description tags are crucial for SEO purposes. The Meta title tag basically tells search engines what the page is about; the Meta description tag is what appears (usually) in a brief paragraph below the title on the search results. It is important to structure the tags correctly and keep them within a certain character limit. Meta data should be unique for every page on your website.
