Westfield New Zealand confirms Westfield
Riccarton shopping centre reopened at 11.30am today –
Tuesday 14 June 2011.
Hoyts Cinemas will reopen at 2.30pm today and Farmers expected to reopen Wednesday 15 June 2011.
Mr Justin Lynch, Director, Westfield New Zealand said:
“We wish to reassure shoppers Westfield has undertaken an
extensive review of the shopping centre building.
We
confirm Westfield Riccarton has been deemed structurally
sound and ready for retailers and shoppers to occupy. The
building has been designed to withstand such aftershocks
which has allowed us to open as soon as these checks were
completed.
We acknowledge the resilience of our retailers and our own staff as they have worked to reopen the shopping centre.”
