Environmentally friendly digital printer installed
Action Signs in Christchurch have installed New Zealand's first environmentally friendly digital printer capable of recycling billboard skins and printing on a huge range of various materials.
"It's the first model of its kind in New Zealand," Action Signs Managing Director Bill McKnight said.
"There are older models about but this new printer is state of the art with very advanced technology that will mean we can be far more efficient and gives us the ability to print onto anything from fencing to fabrics and offer a recycling program for old billboard skins."
McKnight said the new printer - imported from Singapore - was worth over $400,000 and will boast productivity as it will extend Action Signs printing versatility as well as lowering the impact of printing on the environment.
"This printer really will open up more doors for us. There will also be no drying issues and no solvents are released into the atmosphere."
McKnight said that even with recent tragic and challenging times in Christchurch it was still important to still be investing in Action Signs and growing the business.
