$1 Reserve Auction for CHCH Apartment goes viral

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – 24th June

$1 Reserve Auction for CHCH Apartment goes viral

Over 3,000 people have viewed UC Accommodation’s $1 Reserve Trade Me auction for a five bed apartment in the first 24 hours.

A $1 Reserve auction for a modern five bedroom apartment at the Ilam Apartments was launched on Thursday 23 June at noon. By noon on Friday 24 June over 2,500 people had viewed the auction.

“We’re really happy with the response as it was a big risk to auction the apartment off at a dollar reserve” said Darel Hall, General Manager at UC Accommodation Student Village. “It’s a great way to answer any questions about Ilam Apartments including how safe they are as well as tell the story of how we’ve converted two buildings of 150 bedrooms into non-student accommodation or office space” Darel said.

The auction kicked off on Thursday 23rd June and will run for three weeks. The apartments come fully furnished and include power for normally just $185 per room, per week. The apartments offer open-plan living, warmth (power is included in the price), safety, 24 hour security and a good position to the sun.

Two open homes have been organised at the apartments on the corner of Waimairi Road and Homestead Lane, to assist bidders to get a ‘feel’ for the place on Saturday 25 June and Saturday 2 July between 12 midday and 2pm.
