Preferred Suppliers for Government
Infrastructure as a Service tender named
The Department of Internal Affairs is pleased to announce that three suppliers have been invited to participate in the next stage of the tender process to provide datacentre housing and utility computing and storage services to government agencies.
The three suppliers invited to participate in the next phase are:
* Datacom
* IBM
* Revera
The Government Infrastructure as a Service initiative has been identified by government as being central to the success of Directions and Priorities for Government ICT. "It seeks greater value for money from the government's ICT spend and a higher quality of experience for New Zealanders using and accessing government services.
"The procurement tender process is expected to be completed in September with a panel of at least two suppliers being selected to provide these services to agencies by the end of the year or early 2012. Gen-i remains a significant partner to government in the provision of ICT goods and services," says Brent Chalmers, General Manager, Government ICT Supply Management Office, Department of Internal Affairs.
