Sunday Magazine Shoe of the Week Runway Show

Sunday Magazine Shoe of the Week Runway Show

This Friday, 800 people will watch 18 models show off 72 pairs of shoes from 12 designers and retailers.

Sunday magazine’s popular ‘Shoe of the Week’ column will be transformed into a live runway show as part of New Zealand Fashion Week.

The show has been designed by experienced fashion publicist and producer Chris Lorimer who is excited about being part of a show for shoe designers and retailers.

“Shoes are challenging to show in a venue as big as the Westpac Shed at the Viaduct Events Centre so we had to come up with new ways to make sure the audience can actually see what’s going on. We’ve created a raised platform to bring the shoes to eye-level and added a live multimedia component,” says Lorimer.

“Images from cameras pointed at the legs and shoes will be projected on the back walls up to three metres high. There’s a lot of colour so it will look fantastic and really showcase the designs.”

Sponsored by Rexona Crystal, the models will walk in clothing from renowned designer Cybele Wiren and show hair and makeup from Servilles and US cosmetics company Bobbi Brown.

The Sunday Magazine Shoe of the week Runway show, in association with Rexona hits the catwalk at 4pm, Friday 2nd Sept, Westpac Tent, Halsey Street.
