Eight Candidates Vying
For Three DairyNZ Director Positions
A high level of interest has been shown in the member-elected director positions on DairyNZ’s board, with eight nominations for three positions.
DairyNZ chairman John Luxton and two current directors, Michael Spaans and Kevin Ferris, are retiring by rotation and standing for re-election.
The candidates for the positions are: Greg Maughan, Marton; Ben Allomes, Woodville; Michael Spaans, Te Aroha (current director); Mary Cooper, Palmerston North; Kevin Ferris, Te Awamutu (current director); Gary Stokes, Hamilton; John Luxton, Wellington (current chairman); and Denis Aitken, Outram.
All dairy farmers who pay a milksolids levy are eligible to vote.
The election will be conducted by internet, fax and postal voting. Voter packs, together with information about the candidates, will be sent to members of DairyNZ on Tuesday, October 4. Votes will be weighted by annual milksolids production for the 2010/2011 season. Results will be announced at DairyNZ’s annual general meeting in Hamilton on November 2.
