New Zealand to host International ‘Innovation to Save the World’ Conference
Licensing Executives Society Australia & New Zealand to host LESI2012

February 2012: This April, Auckland, New Zealand, will host the annual LES International Conference, LESI2012: a meeting of global thought leaders to discuss how commercialising innovation can address some of the world’s most urgent problems.

LESI2012, an initiative of the Licensing Executives Society International (LESI), will explore the latest developments in clean tech, investment, research and culture sustainability, and their potential to influence current economic and societal issues such as poverty, disease and environmental destruction.

Hosted by the Licensing Executives Society Australia & New Zealand (LESANZ), the event will debate practices in intellectual property and encourage governments and organisations to implement innovation to ‘save the world’.

Keynote speakers include:
• International entrepreneur and creator of The Blue Economy, Gunter Pauli
• Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Francis Gurry
• CrispStart Principle and New Zealand start-up expert, Nick Gerritsen
• Author on future narratives and institutional innovation, Mark Stevenson
• Author and new generation economic thinker, Ben McNeil
LESI President, Mr James Malackowski, said the event is the highlight of the 2012 LESI calendar, and a time where IP leaders gather to share new and exciting advancements, “The Auckland meeting is a unique opportunity for professionals and entrepreneurs to meet and encourage innovation through networking and discussion.”

“LES2012 will see business, legal, and policy leaders present and explore the best examples and case studies of commercialisation of innovation happening today,” said Mr Malackowski.
