Eco-Drive Challenge Gives ‘Insight’ into Most Efficient Business

The heat is on in the search to find New Zealand’s most fuel efficient company behind the wheel.

The Honda Business Insight is an exciting new business eco-drive challenge that encourages companies country-wide to rev up their competitors, suppliers or even customers, as they battle it out for the title of 2012 Honda Business Insight Champions.

Each weekend during the next three months, a nominated driver from participating companies will put their thrifty driving to the test behind the wheel of a Honda Insight - New Zealand's most effective car to run in 2010. Drivers will collect their Insight from a Honda showroom on a Friday afternoon, where they will have their picture taken with the car. After a weekend of efficient motoring, drivers will return the car on the Monday and their average fuel consumption for the weekend will be recorded on the Honda Business Insight leader board.

First up, marking the official launch of the Honda Business Insight Challenge on Friday, 23 March, are five giants of the telecoms industry. Orcon, 2degrees, Telecom, Telstraclear and Vodafone, have all fielded drivers, who will go head-to-head in the fuel efficiency stakes this weekend. And, as the pre-challenge build up intensifies, all five drivers are equally keen to be the front runner and claim the eco-drive title.

Graeme Meyer, Head of Marketing for Honda New Zealand, is laying down the Honda Business Insight Challenge to companies of all sizes, from all sectors and from all corners of the country.

“Are you the most fuel efficient company in your industry? In your city? How about in New Zealand? Prove it with the Honda Business Insight Challenge, where you get the opportunity to give fellow companies an ‘insight’ into your thrifty driving habits,” says Graeme.

The winning company will be awarded the Honda Business Insight trophy and the kudos of being New Zealand’s most fuel efficient company behind the wheel.

Costing 40% less to run than the average hatch, the Insight has the perfect credentials for use in an eco-drive challenge, as demonstrated by its status as Supreme Winner in the 2010 AA Energywise Rally.
