Alpine Health & Fitness Opens State-Of-The-Art RPM Studio

26 April 2012

Alpine Health & Fitness Opens State-Of-The-Art RPM Studio with Firefighter Fundraiser

Alpine Health & Fitness’ purpose-built RPM Studio is set to open on Tuesday 1 May at 6.30am with a Bid for Your Bike auction. The 28 highest bidders will be rewarded with being the first people to try out this state-of-the-art facility for the extremely popular stationary cycling classes. Bids start at $10 per bike and a $100 bid will guarantee you a bike. All funds raised will be going towards Frankton Fire Brigade’s 4WD support vehicle.

The new studio will permanently contain the stationary bikes in a tiered, theatre-style formation, which allows everyone to easily see and hear the instructor. It will also feature a cycle specific sound system and light show to allow users to really get “in the zone” during their class. The studio took twelve weeks to complete and involved such building works as installing a mezzanine floor above one of the original gym areas and cutting a hole through a 30cm thick cement wall to provide RPM users with a view out over the pool.

Richie Heap, Alpine Health & Fitness manager, is thrilled with the results. “We’re so excited to be able to offer this new service to our members and visitors – we’ve wanted to do this for a long time. Not only is it a top notch dedicated space for our incredibly popular RPM classes – it also frees up time in the current Group Fitness Studio which has allowed us to add fifteen more classes to our general timetables. Auctioning off the first 28 bikes means our members and the public can be a part of the excitement as well as get behind a great cause.”
